“The plans for the diligent lead surely to abundance. but every one who is hasty comes only to poverty.” Proverbs 21:5

Giles County is a special place because of its people, its land, its history, and its rural way of life. Those are the very things that make people want to live here, raise families here, and come home here.
As I look at the future of District 4 and Giles County, I believe one of our greatest responsibilities is to prepare for growth without losing what makes this county home.
Growth is coming. We see it in Middle Tennessee. We see it in the continued success of UT Southern and TCAT Pulaski. We see it in opportunities for new businesses, workforce development, housing, and job creation. District 4, including Lynnville, Blue Creek, and northern Giles County, has an opportunity to be part of that future.
But opportunity requires planning.
We cannot wait until roads are overcrowded, water needs become urgent, or development decisions are made without a long-term vision. We must think ahead about infrastructure, housing, economic development, and the services our citizens depend upon.
I believe we can support responsible growth while protecting farmland, open spaces, and the rural character that defines our communities. Smart planning and conservation can work hand in hand.
Growth should strengthen our tax base, support our schools, create opportunities for young people, and help local businesses thrive. It should be guided by common sense, community input, and a clear understanding of long-term costs.
Lynnville has tremendous potential as a destination for visitors, and our interstate exits offer opportunities to capture sales tax revenue from travelers passing through Giles County. Wise investments today can help reduce pressure on local taxpayers tomorrow.
Most importantly, growth is about quality of life. Families need strong schools, safe roads, reliable emergency services, clean water, and effective local government. Those are the foundations of a thriving community.
I want District 4 and Giles County to move forward with confidence, but not carelessly. We can honor our past while preparing for the future. We can protect our rural way of life while creating new opportunities for future generations.
That is why I am running for County Commissioner—to help ensure that Giles County’s future is shaped by thoughtful leadership, responsible planning, and a deep love for the place we call home.
