Why I’m Running

I am running for Giles County Commissioner because I believe the future of our county depends on the decisions we make today.

Giles County has shaped my life. I was raised here, educated here and taught here to value hard work, responsibility, service and community. This is home. It is where my family’s roots are, where I built a life and where I continue to believe in the promise of what our county can be.

I am running because I care deeply about the next generation.

Our young people are the future of Giles County. They deserve hope. They deserve opportunity. They deserve good jobs, strong communities and a reason to believe they can build their lives and raise their families here. Not every young person will stay, and not every young person who leaves will come back. But I believe we should do everything we can to make Giles County a place they are proud to call home and excited to return to.

Education Changed My Life

I know the power of opportunity because education changed my life.

My parents did not have the opportunity to attend college, but they made sure I understood its importance. Because of their belief in me, I became a first-generation college graduate. That experience shaped the way I see the world and the way I think about the future of Giles County.

Education is more than a diploma. It can open doors, build confidence, create choices and change the direction of a family for generations. That is why I care so much about helping young people see possibilities for themselves right here at home.

Giles County should be a place where education, training, work and community are connected. Whether a young person chooses college, a trade, agriculture, entrepreneurship, public service or another path, they should know there is a future worth building here.

I Believe in Responsible Leadership

County government has a serious responsibility. It must provide needed services, support public safety, maintain roads, plan for growth and make decisions that affect families, farms, businesses and communities.

Those decisions should be made carefully.

I believe budgets should make sense. I believe taxpayers deserve respect. I believe landowners and homeowners should be heard when rising costs place a burden on their families. I believe county commissioners should ask questions, study the facts and understand the long-term impact of the decisions they make.

My professional life has taught me the value of planning, preparation and practical decision-making. Good decisions are not made by reacting to the moment. They are made by listening, learning and looking ahead.

Leadership Means Bringing a Better Plan

I believe leadership means more than saying no.

There will always be difficult issues before county government. There will always be competing needs, limited resources and strong opinions. Saying no may sometimes be necessary, but saying no without offering a better path forward does not move a community ahead.

Real leadership requires the willingness to listen, consider alternatives and work toward solutions. It means asking what is fair, what is practical and what will serve the people of Giles County not just today, but in the years to come.

That is the kind of leadership I want to bring to the County Commission.

I Want Giles County to Be a Place of Hope

I believe Giles County can honor its roots while preparing for the future.

We can respect our farms, rural communities, small businesses and local traditions while also looking for ways to create opportunity. We can support needed county services while being responsible with the money taxpayers provide. We can encourage growth without forgetting the people who have carried this county for generations.

Most of all, we can choose hope.

Hope is not wishful thinking. Hope is the work of building something better. It is making responsible choices today so our children and grandchildren have more opportunities tomorrow. It is believing that a young person raised in Giles County can leave to learn, come home to work and build a good life here if that is what they choose.

That is the future I want to help build.

Home Grown. Home Educated. Home Committed.

I am home grown. I am home educated. I am home committed.

I am running for Giles County Commissioner because I believe in this county, its people and its future. I believe we owe the next generation more than problems to inherit. We owe them thoughtful leadership, responsible decisions and a community strong enough to welcome them home.

I would be honored to serve the people of District 4 and work for a stronger future for all of Giles County.
