Why I’m Running
The Bible speaks often about leadership, justice, service and caring for others. I am not a politician. I am a servant leader. I am a 100% believer that partisan politics has no place in local government. Our county needs servant leaders who choose our common good over personalities or partisan politics.
My decision to run for county commissioner for District 4 was not made lightly. I believe God is calling me to give my time, talents and experience to serve the citizens of Giles County’s 4th District.
This is a serious commitment that will require time, patience and a willingness to study and understand how county government should work for the common good of all our citizens. I am not doing this for money. I pledge to give all that is paid to me to the Giles County Animal Shelter. I am not running to be popular. I am running because I have skills that can help our county work through difficult decisions.
What I’ll give…
District 4 needs a commissioner who was born and raised here — someone who understands our values, our people and the importance of preserving what makes Giles County special.
I am committed to working hard for our district and its needs. With more than 40 years of business experience, I understand the importance of fiscal responsibility, careful planning and listening to the concerns of the people we serve. I also believe that with age comes experience, perspective and wisdom — qualities that are important when making decisions that affect our community and future generations.
I believe we can encourage responsible growth while still protecting our rural values and our rural way of life. We need leadership that is thoughtful, informed and willing to do the work.
We do not need commissioners who simply show up at meetings and vote “no” on every issue. We need commissioners who take the time to study the issues, work effectively with other commissioners, listen to our citizens, ask questions and work toward practical solutions that benefit our entire community.
I believe Giles County’s best days are ahead of us, and I would be honored to serve District 4 with integrity, common sense and a commitment to the future of our community.
